Finished

Finished the last workout in Female Body Breakthrough tonight and now am contemplating my options on what to do next.

I am sort of leaning toward New Rules of Lifting Fat Loss workouts that will keep me busy for the next few months.  The rest of this week however, no lifting just metabolic circuits.

I won't be getting a paycheck this week - its my major employer too - luckily I don't have rent or any other bills due till the 15th so maybe will have a check to cover my bills by then.

Single again

After 26 years 3 months and 1 day of marriage I am now single.  So sad that it happened.  So sad he didn't even put up a fight- didn't say anything about it really.  We had a wonderful life together up until maybe 2008 - just so sad.  Sad he was so blind to his own wants he didn't see me anymore.  He didn't know I existed - he didn't care what I thought or wanted or needed- just hide in his life and ignore my simple requests for pictures of our trip to the Grand Canyon 4 years ago, pictures of our kid's graduations just simple little things that would have taken less than a day to do- but it didn't serve his purpose so it wasn't going to happen.  So sad.....

Single again

After 26 years what do you do??  Actually it was 27 years ago this time of year he proposed - to think of the fun we had.  Two of the greatest kids one could ask for too.  I hope the girls find someone even half as great as he is!

so now on to starting a new stage of my life.  Hope the kids don't freak out when I start publically dating again.

Thinking again about moving far far away.  Lease isn't up for a few more months though.  Well not to soon to start looking elsewhere for work I guess.

Court date

Have court today @ 11:30 for divorce so should be divorced in a few short hours.

been neglecting this

I have been very bad in not blogging here lately.  - or sharing links and fun stuff even.  Guess thats what happens when you turn 51!!  Hell yea - I'm officially into my 50's not just "50"  - and in a little less than 48 hours I will be officially divorced as well.

Almost done with The Female Body Breakthrough  if all goes as planned will have it completed next Monday - then I'm trying to decide what I want to do next.  My options are redo this program , redo New Rules of Lifting for Women  or could even do the fat loss programs in New Rules of Lifting  then there is also the Stronglifts.com program but its a strength program I want to lose more fat first, then work on the strength again.  Also was looking at the Spartacus workout on Men's health but its got too much upper body stuff - I don't want to be looking like my "pizza boys" I see at the gym, besides my legs need the most work.  I'm pretty happy with the upper body especially the shoulders.  I also have some good abs showing through.  I am sort of leaning towards the NROL fat loss programs for the winter months, then go back to FBB if necessary.  My goal isn't a number on a scale, but I would like to see 155 again, but now my goal is a size 6 - I want Cheri to have to buy me that pair of thong panties!!!

Been trying to stay busy, been putting off all social activities to weekends only - during the week its work and workouts if I get to the gym mon - friday then I can have fun on the weekends as my reward.  With the colder weather and possibility of snow my having to stay local is more likely.  Really wish there was more to do in this town sometimes.

Lately I discovered if I fall asleep with the tv on I sleep better - I set the sleep button for about 90 minutes so it turns off automatically.  I haven't had to keep my window fan on for the white noise either.  Still wake up at 4:30 and fight to go back to sleep for that last hour, but its good.

Treated myself to the Melanie concert both Friday and Saturday night also bought a cd each night.  Her new one isn't available on Amazon yet, but the title is pretty catchy for those of us who mention her - "Since you've never heard of Me"  there are a couple really good songs on there.

Define Yourself Workout B

Despite still being a bit sore from Sunday's workout - I hit the gym and did phase B  - I got my HRM battery changed in the strap  but that appears to not have been the problem I used my old strap and it too wasn't being picked up by the watch -- I wore both and one would connect once in a while so got a calorie burn at least.  I think it was the one I had low on my rib cage vs up higher at bra band height.

The workout
Reverse Wood Chop - 1 set @ 50lb x 8 1 set 70lbs x 8
Prone Jackknife 2 sets of 8 - these are getting easier I didn't fall off the ball once
Step up - used the high step 2 sets 15lb X 8
T Pushup - oh dear lord these were impossible.  said to do 4 each side I did 2 each side and not continuous.  Had to do a push up rest raise arm down rest rest rest.... do other side.  First 2 on each side I raised the 12 lbs weights the second set I did with just raising my hand that was hard enough 2 on each side
Single leg squat - once again an impossible exercise.  It said to lower to the height of a bench don't sit just brush well hell if I could get down 1/5 of the way to the bench did this 2 sets of 8 as low as I could go - anxious to see how sore I'll be tomorrow or Thursday
Alternating lateral raise 2 sets of 10lbs X 8  first set was easy 2nd was a challenge to finish the 8 so think the choice of weight was good
Supinated hip extension w/ leg curl SHELC - love this exercise my hams feel it and my butt.  anything to work the back side is good 2 sets of 8
Inverted Row - I admit I was scared of this one it looks so hard in the pictures but it actually wasn't half bad.  I actually liked it - first set 8 2nd set only did 6

Came home had a protein shake added 20 almonds mmm chocolate almond ice cream is my favorite and this combo was excellent.  Made a baked potato while I soaked in epsom salt hot bathtub.

This morning had appointment with legal document filing service to start divorce paperwork.

XM radio started up a new radio station, its a electronic dance mix.  Its pretty good to listen to late at night driving home from Prescott!!!

OH THE PAIN!!!!

First workout for the "Define Yourself" workout A Female Body Breakthrough and Oh dear I hurt and I'm pissed because the battery in the heart rate monitor chest strap decided to die - so I worked out for 90 minutes and have no idea what my calorie burn might have been or what my heart rate registered.  I know it was high a couple of times and I know I pushed myself hard.

the workout:
Wood Chop 1 set 30lb X8 1 set 50lbs X 8 and one set 70lbX8
Plank 1 set 60 seconds 2 sets of 45 seconds
Dumbell squat with offset load - weird only holding one weight doing the squat then switching did 2 sets of 25lb X 8 and one set 30lbs x 4
Dumbell alternating overhead press 1 set 20 X 5 reps each arm 1 set 20 x 4 and one set 15 lbs x 8 reps
Single leg bent knee deadlift 1 set 15lbs X 8 one set 25lbs X 8
Chinup w/ band assistance 2 sets of 4 - this is where my left elbow started to hurt again majorlly painful!!!
alternating lateral lunge 1 set 15lbs x 5 one set 10 lbs x 8
Two point dumbell row - one set 20 X 8 one set 30 X 8

I enjoyed doing a new routine.  I know I'm going to be even sorer tomorrow.  I went to walmart afterwards and bought some more epsom salts w/ the eucalyptus and spearmint and also some thermacare back wraps as my low back is hurting the last couple days.  I put icy hot on elbow took some aleve and soaked in epsom salt bath when I got home.  Went to get a new battery but couldn't get the compartment opened up.  will have to use the unencoded strap I still have until I can figure out how to open the dang thing and find out what size battery it uses.

Yesterday went hiking on Mingus Mountain - that was fun and the weather was pretty perfect.  Not overly hot and in the shade it was perfect.  Hope to do that again real soon and if not there just hiking anywhere is good and I want to do more of it, especially now that the weather is getting cooler.

Labor Day

Had a very good day today.  I went to bed at 9 last night- and then when my internal clock woke me at 5 am I forced myself to stay in bed roll over and slept in till almost 7!!  Wonderful!!!!  Got up and after my usual morning routine went for a hike at the creek by the house.

Then I went to the gym and got in a workout and then to the grocery store.

Posting my workout for today  Was FBB Workout A 4th workout for this one.  I'm a little frustrated with the overhead squats as I can't do more than 21 lbs sheesh how am I ever going to be able to lift my bodyweight if I can't do 21 lbs more than 8 times!!!!  I can back squat more but that overhead thing just kills me!!

Russian Twist 10lb medicine ball 10X each side 2 sets ( up 5 lbs from last time)
Prone Cobra  70 seconds 2 sets  (up 15 seconds from last time)
Overhead Squat 2 sets of 16 lbs ( tried 21 lbs only did 6 reps)
Lateral raise w/ extended rotation 2 sets of 12 lbs ( up 2 lbs from last time)
Single leg single arm romanian Deadlift 2 sets of 20 lbs ( 5 lbs more than last time)

Not a good day

Yesterday was a eating fest- very hard to stop - I was full but still wanted more and more and more.  It is not good to do that.  Started at 10 am and didn't stop till after 10 last night when I went to bed.

So went to pharmacy to pick up some scripts and the lady at the counter asked if I was going to pick up Dave's too -- I said no we are separated she was sorry to hear that.  She said we seemed like such nice people.  Oh well.  then last night Dave's sister posts on his facebook wall to call her.  I commented back to her he never goes on facebook and she should just call him, or email him sent her his phone and email addy by private mail and sent him a message to call his sister.    So this morning I get a message from him thanking me for the message he talked to his sister yadda yadda yadda - I'm thinking sure unimportant crap  like that you respond to, but when I send you long heartfelt messages or messages of importance I hear nada WTF is up with that anyway?? 
Tomorrow I have meeting with atty to get divorce started.  It is also our 26th anniversary.

Went to the city's rec center w/ Carmen so she could try it out before she decides if she's going to switch gyms.  she likes the machines so I did a couple reps on some of the machines.  I HATE machines.  the cable workouts are the exception to that rule - you gotta use the machines for those so I just brought the 15 lbs weight over into that area of the gym.  the city has some weird ass rules - no food or drink and no gym bags allowed on the floor --WTF I have my book, my log notebook my towel, water bottle and my protein drink that FBB says to drink while working out.  Oh well, I waited til I got into the car then drank it.


I'm going to go up to the pool now and soak in the jacuzzi to release some of the soreness in my back.

Oh I went to the house to drop off the broken swamp cooler and youngest daughter was there moving in her boyfriends stuff.  She didn't say much to me.  Think she's pissed since I didn't loan her money last week - well, if you don't talk to me for 2 weeks and then only text me for money then you aren't going to get any money.

Measuring my successes in inches not pounds

Today's horoscope seems very on the mark today  bring on the suitors!!!!

Took my measurements this morning and am pleased, only problem is I can't find my measurement log book from 2004 when I first lost weight- will have to tear apart the boxes from the move and find it to compare.  I think its got to be better.

What exactly where the numbers you ask
Chest - ( not breasts- but probably not much difference!) = 33.5
Waist - 1" above belly button - 32
Hips- 7" below Belly button = 40
Arm - 4" from elbow bend - 12
Thighs - fattest part - 23.5

So in the last year once getting more serious and working a program properly I've made progress!!

Before I quit smoking I was able to fit into size 8's - but they had to have some stretch to them, my "thermometer jeans" as Rachel Cosgrove calls it in her book ( instead of a pound weight goal)  my jean size I want to wear are 6's.  I can get into some size 8's now, but they make me have a muffin top - my biggest problem is I can't get most size 8's over my thighs.  They are baggy in the butt and waist, just won't go over these saddle bags gotta work on that issue

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner


I think I have been to Prescott more in the last month than the entire 11 years I've lived in the Verde Valley !  Last night had dinner at In and Out Burger.  This morning had oatmeal and coffee at JB Big Boy then went to Wildflower Bread Company with Anthony and Jack for more breakfast a couple hours later.  Then shopping and then met up with Carmen and her friend and ate lunch at Red Robin.   The girls continued shopping - I decided I needed to come home.  Played on the computer a bit and then started cleaning the apt put together a bookcase and have done laundry while listening to Sirius/ XM 's Saturday night "Safety Dance" on "First Wave" station.  8 hours of all 80's new wave dance tunes -- I'm in heaven!!! 



While eating my oatmeal this morning I started re reading The Female Body Breakthrough  and it said to keep a journal  or blog of workouts and feelings and such so this blog is going to be changing directions a bit.  Going to start posting my workout logs and such.  I should probably get the tape measure out too. I'll do that tomorrow, maybe after the last 24 hour food choices aren't bloating me up as much.  I need to make a special shout out to Maria for making the log sheets for FBB - I am so illiterate when it comes to Excel spreadsheets.

Tomorrow I promised Carmen I'd go with her to the city's rec center to work out.  I'm not sure how much of a workout I'll actually get.

Nicole crossfit workout


I am posting this link cause not only do I love the song- I so want to be able to lift my bodyweight like this someday. And to all the girls out there saying they don't want to bulk up and refuse to lift weights I say "I want to be this bulky"!!! this girl is hot.

Just realized tonight that I have not printed the right workout logs for Female Body breakthrough WOA - I hadn't done the co contractural lunge , the push ups and the hip thigh extension and reverse flys yet - did them tonight for the first time.  Hope I'm not too sore tomorrow doing those new workouts - I do have plans with T tomrrow night and then breakfast plans with my other friends over in the area.  Want to be able to walk

Yesterday was a very interesting day indeed.  I sent the ex a very long winded release email.  I had to respond to his email about "getting it together".  I haven't heard a reply back, don't think I will but oh well, I felt better getting it off my chest at least.  I didn't make it to the gym last night - I was just really tired and had a headache and my legs were sore from the workout the night before

Yesterday at work one of my coworkers whose daughter got married Saturday was talking about decorating her house and how she wanted to get rid of all the dead animal heads mounted on her walls.  She said when can I have my house the way I want it I said "move out"  we laughed.  I said well take your daughters room and make it his man cave and move them all into there.  This Friday we are going out to lunch for Dr's wife's birthday.  I said what time - oh it doesn't matter my date isn't until 7 that night LOL - coworkers asked what I was going to do I want to say MYOB but said oh go out to dinner and whatever.   I know what I'm doing I'm going to have a good time doing it too.  Saturday morning I'm taking my gay friends over in that town out to breakfast too.  We'll pal around a bit and then think I'll come back to town and depending on the weather go swimming or go over and start sorting thru the garage stuff to sell.  will just play it by ear on what happens saturday.
Will try to get to gym tonight.  Not much else on agenda.

What can I say

Yesterday and today have been a bit harder to handle on the emotional scale - Emailed ex - haven't heard back yet from that.  


Yesterday I bought myself a new bed and they were able to deliver it already as well.  Its only a full size, but its fine.  A queen would have made this room even more cramped so its ok.


While lifting weights last night I noticed this bruise on my bicep - must have been from the moving the futon out of the room to make room for the bed.  I don't know why I bruise so easily.  It doesn't hurt just looks awful.


I didn't feel up to going to gym today.  I just feel really tired and a little sore.  Not sure how much of the soreness is from the old futon finally getting to  me or the workout from yesterday.  Tired do to the getting accustomed to new bed and the fact the swamp cooler thing is broken so its downright warm at night to sleep.  I am so ready for September to hurry and get here and bring cooler temps.
